I am trying to watch 3Dmovies with the aquiered glasses,but it doesn't work on me.?
I am trying to watch 3Dmovies with the aquiered glasses,but for some reason it doesn't seem to work on me.?
I see the movies in overlapping layers,almost like without the glases,but with less distance between them,but never as a sharp 3D movie.
I wear glasses,and tried to look with the 3Dglasses on top of them,and I tried without my prescription glasses.It made no difference.
What am I doing wrong?
Chances are you are using the wrong type of glasses. Many people can not see 3D glasses due to one eye being dominant or some similar condition. But in those cases, the 3D movie will look like a 2D movie and they will not see double images. So it sounds like that is not your problem. However, there are many different types of 3D movie technologies and each requires its own type of glasses. Some require red and blue, some blue and yellow, some circularly polarized glasses, and then there are even other technologies. So if you use a pair of red and blue glasses on a movie intended for blue and yellow, they will not work. That may give rise to a very mild difference between wearing the wrong glasses and wearing no glasses at all, as you report seeing. I would check to make sure you are using the correct glasses with your video (it should have come with the correct glasses). If you are using the correct glasses, you could also run into issues with the color settings on your TV or monitor. If you have the color settings wrong, then blue might not be the right color of blue, which would ruin the 3D affect much like wearing the wrong glasses. There may be a color setting wizard on the DVD (if you are suing a DVD) at the beginning that allows you to calibrate the color settings. Or you could just play around with the color settings until you get the best 3D image. But make sure you have the correct glasses first, or this will be a big waste of time. Also, make sure you are looking at the image straight on in good lighting conditions. Some screens give the wrong color when viewed at large angles or in bad lighting.
If none of those issues help, then I would recommend letting another person watch your video with your glasses on your monitor/TV and see if they see a 3D image. If they do and you do not, then you may have a 'problem' with your eyes that keeps you from seeing 3D. That is quite unlikely, given what you have described, but it may be worth checking.

can you buy prescription 3d glases?
as in the red and blue ones? can you get lens crafters to customize them or something?
No you can't, that is why you haven't gotten an answer for 4 days. I have read in news articles that in the future they may have glasses you can have made but that was for the polarized glasses for theaters, not the red and blue.
