3d Stereoscopic Is stereoscopic imaging just nostalgia?
I was looking at the forthcoming release of Brian May’s new book which looks at some of the history of stereoscopic images. (References source: http://www.londonstereo.com/book.html )
MQ: Is stereoscopic imaging a novelty item or is there a future (such as 3d television)?
There is a future. GPS with digital 3D stereoscopy allows measuring distances (surveying) from a single location without crossing dangerous or awkward areas like swamps, bogs, and canyons, while vertical stereoscopy with computer analysis of topography with much less on-ground verification (see also Google Earth 3D view)
At the other extreme - computers can generate 3D views that don't really exist and present them to surgeons planning to cut in to bodies and geologists looking to analyze underground formations for oil, gas and minerals.

Software to view or convert ordinary movies to 3d?
I recently saw the reviews of avatar and they say its great, now i want to know that is there a software to view ordinary movies in stereoscopic vision? or 3D vision? Like a player or something.
Thanks for any help!
i wanna just use the software with ordinary red and blue glasses.
I've heard about that one of the acer laptops can convert any movie to 3D.
here's the link. http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/21/acers-3d-equipped-aspire-5738dg-laptop-gets-official-examined/
No there isn't. Now there are some companies that are releasing 3d systems later this year that can convert 2d to 3d, but from what I've read 3d conversion is not as good as a movie actually done in 3d.
Another benefit of this microscope would be the ability to put the images on a virtual reality screen and not only view but also manipulate the image while seeing everything in 3d stereoscopic glasses.
