Virtual Reality Room
tell me about college dorm life?
So I'm about to start college and where I'm going to go to school, the honors program requires that all its members stay in a dorm, on campus. So sort of give me a run down on how the men's dorms are run...
Mainly, the shower/bath facilities. (their website shows a virtual reality of many rooms and on the one of the dorm rooms, there is only one door so I'm not thinking that there is not going to be a private bathroom for me and my roommate)

It has been years since I lived in the dorm at the Uni. of Wyoming. So much depends upon the proctors and who the residents are! I was fortunate to get in a new dorm so everything was working! I was unfortunate in that the athletes were also housed in the same dorm. Even in the "quiet hours" for study, there was a lot of noise in the dorm! I did most of my studying in the library!
The only doors in bathrooms were on the toilet stalls. The shower stall were open. There was a hand sink in the dorm room. No appliances were allowed because the electrical wiring wasn't adequate to carry the load. There was a TV room on each floor, a central lounge area, laundry room with irons and ironing boards. Meals were in a central cafeteria between two blocks of dorm rooms. The upper three floors were women's rooms and the bottom three were men's rooms. Interestingly, women had a 9 PM curfew on week nights and 1 AM on weekends!
My roommate was from Nicaragua so it was interesting to learn about his country and traditions. He had friends from Peru and Venezuela so I got to meet them as well.
I stayed in the dorm only one year due to my work schedule. I paid for the meals but often missed them because I had to go to work before breakfast was served and missed supper because I had to work late. After the first year, I got a basement apartment with private bathroom! It was worth the slightly higher expense.
