Stereoscopic 3d Glasses Using triOviz glasses to turn 2d tv into 3d?
i have a samsung active 3d TV
but i don't have the glasses b/c they're 150 dollars a piece. but i want 2 view my ps3 in 3d. so could get my ps3 hooked up 2 my TV, set it to up convert 3d mode, since it's original stereoscopic 3d content, and use the trioviz glasses to get 3d on my ps3? would this work, i'm saying thanks in advance b/c i know the yahoo answers community will find a good answer for me.
You just spent over $2000 for a 3DTV but you don't want to spend $150 more to actually be able to use the 3D feature? You can use the 2D conversion with anything(if you had the correct glasses), but the fact that the PS3 has actual 3D support doesn't improve the quality of the conversion when its displaying 2D. 2D is never going to look like real 3D content. The 3D conversion feature only works with compatible active shutter glasses. It won't convert to any other 3D technology.
Those trioviz glasses are anaglyph glasses. Anaglyph glasses are the old red/blue type but they claim that they use different colors for a more natural looking picture. It's probably better than traditional red/blue, but its still just anaglyph and the new 3DTV systems are far superior to it. I went to the trioviz site and it looked like only a few games had support for it. You wouldn't need your 3DTV at all for trioviz glasses anyway.
You are going to have to buy the samsung glasses if you want to get any real 3D use out of your new 3DTV.
