Virtual Reality Companies

Indie film where an asian man falls in love with a virtual reality girl?
It was part of an indie film festival years ago, I want to say maybe 6 or 7). I'm not sure if it was sundance or not, but i remember watching a video online of this indie film where this asian man buys this game where you care for a virtual girl on some type of handheld game device. He would go to the store because you would have to buy virtual food for her. well that virtual girl company goes out of business so he can't buy her food so she begins to die. He ends up falling in love with this girl in the game and he marries her and then she dies. Anyone heard of this indie film?
Flicka (2002)
Construction worker Carl knows it for sure. Flicka lives with him because she loves him, and not of out of opportunism. But Flicka, Swedish for girl, is only a computer program. Carl doesn't want anyone else however. He chooses her specifically. Carl feels he can really open his heart for her. Both decide to grow old together. But when Carl goes to the store to pick up some new food modules for the program, they are sold out. Flicka can't survive without them.

I just think that today, people don't have the imagination to create something brand new. They have to "remake" songs, movies and even shows. I think what your "older" co-workers etc., are meaning is that today's generation doesn't have the originality and imagination that film makers, or artist once had. So, they have to lean on recreating something. Now, I do understand musicians remaking songs to show tribute to their influences etc. that's fine with me, and some remake movies are o.k. I mean, one of my all time favorite movies is the old Jack Lemmon, Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis film, " SOme like it Hot", and I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of that, but the original was so perfect, I'm afraid no one can do it justice, so…It depends on the film.
I just wish people could quit relying so heavily on CGI Movies, and be creative and original!
yes sometimes the remakes are better. alot of the time a person has a certain perception of a movie they saw, usually as a youngster.
remakes often dont do the original justice. for instance they are doing a remake of "red dawn" and i cant see how they can make it better than teh original.
others however, can be better than teh original but the chances of doing so are less than 50-50 in my book. one that i feel was better than the original was "dawn of the dead"
