3d Car Visualization (Virtual Reality)
What do I need to make effects like in professional movies?
Hello.
I'm looking to create a amateur movie. It is based heavily on virtual reality. It contains the need of many special effects and other settings. A few examples include a "white room", such as seen in the Matrix movies, materialization effects, "virtual block world" like of that in the TRON movie. Also some sort of program to create the visual of a touchpad, possibly overlaying a piece of black wood after editing. I would also need to create more basic visual effects, like "super zooming", when in certain scenes the view is focused into a certain person or thing, with the ability to add details around it.
I'm sorry, but it's really hard to explain.
What tools and programs would I need? Where can I find them?
Thank you!
Also some program to put 3D animation effects into "real time" movie.
Example:
A digital monster put into a recorded scene.
For 3D computer animation types of effects, you'll want to check out Blender. It's an open-source program (free!) and is regarded as being very good for this type of thing.

Caution: You won't learn this in 15 minutes. There are some good tutorials for the program, however.
You'll also need, at a minimum, some video editing software. I've not used any open source programs, so I can't recommend something that's free. I like Sony's Vegas. A simpler program is Ulead Video Studio. Both have free trial downloads so you can check them out to see if they suit your needs.

I've also used another video editor, Pinnacle Studio. It's easy, and I really like the program, but I eventually gave up on it because it's so buggy and unreliable. If you're doing simple video editing, it might work for you.
