Vr Displays why is camcorder showing files as IFO, BUP AND VRO?
Usually my sony handycam dcr dv310 displays its videos (when dvd-rw is finalised) fine on the computer but now its coming up with 3 files unknown to me under the formats IFO, BUP and VRO they are all named VR_MANGR.BUP, VR_MANGR.IFO etc and are under folder DVD_RTAV
why are they like this and how can i get them to play, store on computer and upload to computer? will i now need to conver them, if so how?
thanks
IFO - An info file associated with a .VRO video file. The .VRO file contains the video stream and the .IFO file contains various scene and timing information. This is different from a .VOB file where that information is included in the file. Several manufacturers use .VRO/.IFO files. If present, the file VIDEO_TS.IFO consists of control and playback information for the entire DVD. VIDEO_TS.IFO is known as VMGI (The Video Manager Information file). This file is required to be present on a DVD-compliant disc.
BUP - BUP files are just backup files of the IFO files. If the DVD player cannot read information from the VIDEO_TS.IFO, it will attempt to get the required information from this backup file. This file is required to be present on a DVD-compliant disc.
VOB - A VOB (Video OBject) contains several streams multiplexed together: Video, Audio and Subtitles. Video is MPEG-2, audio can be AC-3, Linear PCM, Mpeg 2 multichannel or MPEG1 layer2 2 channel audio.
